Oregon Nurse Corps Fellowship

Responding to a documented health work force need

The Oregon Nurse Corps Fellowship (ONCF) program will build a new workforce pipeline from the largest urban area, Portland, and the largest single site nursing school in the state into less urban communities in greater Oregon by recruiting BSN level nurses to participate in a new DNP program option that will place them in high-needs Oregon areas. Participating DNP students will receive a tuition-free education, a fellowship stipend, and no cost housing.

The University of Portland School of Nursing & Health Innovations (UPSONHI) creates positive change in health care through academic excellence to improve the health of society. The mission of the UPSONHI is to educate leaders of the future through innovative learning and engagement that enriches the culture of health care to promote health and wellness of the population. The ONCF program will uphold the core values of the UPSONHI of social justice, academic excellence, integrity, and compassion. We believe that nurses should serve as the inspiration for health care teams to support individuals, families, and communities in transforming systems to attain optimal health and wellness.
