Dr. Chad O’Lynn has been a nurse educator since 1995, first at a community college in the Baltimore metro area, and then Montana State University-Bozeman. He joined the University of Portland faculty in 2005 and currently serves as director of the Alternate Entry Master’s Program at University of Portland (AEM UP). He has experience in both qualitative and quantitative research. His interest areas of research include men in nursing, male nursing students, men’s health and masculinity, and rural health. He has served on the Board of Directors for the American Assembly for Men in Nursing, and has been active in a number of professional nursing and human service organizations throughout his career. Dr. O’Lynn is lead editor of “Men in Nursing: History, Challenges, and Opportunities” (Springer, 2007), the first American book devoted exclusively to the topic of men in nursing.
