School of Nursing: Transfer Students
Admittance into the upper division nursing coursework for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is dependent upon the following:

A cumulative GPA of 2.7* or above.

A cumulative GPA of 2.7* or above in the required sciences.

Completion of all prerequisite courses. Lower division credit may be taken at any accredited college or university.

All prerequisite courses must be graded with a C or higher. Pass/No Pass is not allowed.

Computer experience/literacy (ability to use a PC for word processing, e-mail, and access to the Internet) is required.
*Effective February 2009 for all students. Please note that these are the minimum requirements. Transfer student admission to the upper division is highly competitive with average GPAs significantly higher than the requirement.
Transfer students' GPA for admission to upper-division nursing courses is computed from all credits accepted in transfer toward the nursing degree.
The application period for the 2009-2010 academic year is closed. The next opportunity to enter the nursing program is Fall 2010 or Spring 2011. The Admissions office will begin accepting applications September 1, 2009. Applications for both fall and spring entry are due January 15, 2010.
